  • As one of 10 members of his Next Generation Advisory Panel, Sven Biscop attended the Panel’s first meeting with Admiral James Stavridis, SACEUR, at the Munich Security Conference on 5-7 February.
  • On 4 February, Sven Biscop lectured about the EU’s Common Security and Defence Policy in the Advanced Command and Staff Course in Shrivenham, UK.
  • From 80 candidates from Allies and PfP countries, Sven Biscop, has been selected as one of 10 members to serve on The Next Generation Advisory Board to Admiral James Stavridis, Commander of US European Command (EUCOM) and NATO Supreme Allied Commander Europe (SACEUR). As such, he will participate in the annual Munich Security Conference or Wehrkunde on 5-7 February.
  • On 30 Jan. Sven Biscop spoke about "A strategy for CSDP operations in Africa and beyond" at the First Symposium of the African Federation for Strategic Studies, in Marrakech.
  • On 25 Jan. Sven Biscop gave a guest lecture on "The European Security Strategy: Challenges and Opportunities" at the Geneva Centre for Security Policy (GCSP), to a combined session of the ETC and ITC courses.
  • On 18 Jan. 2010 Sven Biscop gave a lecture about "Macht en waarden in het Middellandse Zeegebied: Tijd voor een EU-Strategie" at a conference organised by the European Movement of Belgium and MEDEA.
