Présentation

The training department was launched mid 2007. Its objective is to develop and organize training programmes for specific target groups based on their needs and requirements. It takes care of trainings at the request of third parties, such as the Federal Public Services, Wallonia Brussels International and establishes other joint and network related cooperation. The areas covered during the training relate to the European Union, International Peace and Security, Belgian institutions and diplomacy.

Other more specific training needs are related to the aspect of civilian crisis management. Since 2008, the training department has been affiliated with integrated trainings linked to Belgium’s contribution in personnel to civilian peacekeeping operations and to EU rule of law-missions.

The training is based on an interactive learning approach consisting of workshops and debates, group work-presentations, simulation exercises and lectures provided by in-house researchers and training officers and by external experts, practitioners and academics.
